I chose to talk about Italy first and on its own because it was the country where we explored a lot different cities, five in total. I will take to our journey one by one…..
Rome |
The trip began by arriving at Rome; we flew overnight, and arrived early afternoon, check into the hotel and took off to explore, we had only enough time to see the Spanish Steps, and to have dinner. The Spanish steps are 135 steps, named after the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See; they lead to the French Church Trinita dei Monti. Here we can also find the Trevi Fountain; the legend says that throwing a coin into the fountain means that you will return to Rome again… I throw one :)
What I beautiful place...
Next day we took a tour to Pompeii, vast archaeological site
in south Italy that was buried in meters of ash and pumice by a huge eruption back
in 79 C.E. It was rediscovery in 1599, and its excavation took decades. It was
an amazing site to see, we also had the chance to see one of the biggest exhibitions
of artifacts that details an insight into the life of the city, plus the
exhibition of the plaster casts of some of the human victims…incredible thing
to see in person.
What an amazing adventure…
Florence |
Then we visited Pisa, best known for its iconic Leaning Tower, a 56m white-marble cylinder was tilting since its completion back in 1372. There is also striped-marble cathedral in the Piazza dei Miracoli.
Venice |
Next stop Venice…what a beautiful city! Venice is the capital of northern Italy. Filled with numerous narrow alleys that meets into small squares or plazas where people socialized. The city was built in the Adriatic Sea; there are no cars, just canals and boats, totally amazing!!!
Part two of my journey on next Blog :).....
